Aurora
Aurora Aksnes was born on June 15, 1996 in Stavanger, Norway. Professionally known as Aurora and often stylized with lowercase letters, such as AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves by Decca Records was released on May 15, 2015, and was praised by both music bloggers as well as press. Half the World Away, by the Oasis group for John Lewis Christmas advertisements and Nature Boy, by Nat King Cole are among the artist's most notable covers. Katy Perry, who endorsed the tune Runaway through her music, also gave an additional boost to the music. It was her birthday. Aurora Aksnes' earliest musical memories are of discovering the piano in her attic and discovering the music the instrument produced. Jan Oystein Aksnes, her parents May Britt Aksnes, as well as Jan Oystein Aksnes urged Aurora Aksnes to study music as an activity or a career. The singer began to write her own songs. She credits renowned composers Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan in her influences, along with an appreciation for the style of Bjork. Her mom encouraged her to sing her music in front of the public, but not to gain fame but rather to make others aware of how significant that they are, and the impact they can bring to the world. At age 6, she began to play the piano and at nine began writing her own songs. They didn't let her parents know about it until she turned 14. Aurora wasn't a dream. She claims that she likes to write songs. She believes that music is the ideal way to be able to feel whatever.
